Another Neteller Crisis?April 26, 2007, 7:21 pm (4 years ago)The Neteller card users can actually be in for a rough time is the email that was received around the world and that was ostensibly emanating from the Isle of Man based e-wallet is found to be correct and genuine.
The actual email was addressed as “Dear Neteller Merchant” and actually takes the time to advise the merchants that the Neteller’s third party provider for the actual Neteller card has here recently been advised that under certain rules pertaining to the Cirrus/Maestro Network, it can in fact no longer support the cards. The email tries to explain the incident by saying “consequently”, “members with Neteller Cards will be affected. This should not affect you as a Neteller merchant”. However, it is known that the users of the actual cards will be affected around the world. The email also advised that this takes place immediately the members will no longer be able to withdraw funds from their e-wallet to their Neteller Card. In fact, the card users have until the second of May to actually use all of the funds that are on their cards at the present time. The email also advises the merchants that Neteller will be then communicating with the actual card holders “encouraging them to use the funds on their cards before this date. After May 2nd, we will credit the remaining funds on their cards back to their Neteller e-wallets.” The actual email ends with an apology to all of the merchants and also an assurance that Neteller is indeed working as hard as they can to provide some other card service as soon as possible.
