Casino News: Online lottery vs. Thai government

Online lottery vs. Thai government

 January 4, 2010, 12:16 pm (1 year ago)
As Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva revealed about another evaluation of the project, media such as the Bangkok Post and The Nation made headlines again this week on Thai government plan to take the national lottery online.

The Thailand Trade Representative’s office is going to hold a committee to seek ways to avoid the online lottery from getting into Thailand, Vejjajiva commented that he had pointed TTR president Kiat Sittheeamorn to examine the online lottery rules and research its influence on society. The committee is going to be given thirty days to work on the issue before presenting the result to the PM.
The prime minister was clear in introducing his own views on the project, commenting: “I personally am opposed to the idea of an online lottery.”

He stated the government is going to resolve one of the biggest issues used as a justification for introducing online wagering on the lottery.
