Online casino avoiding prosecution by banning access from US players

 November 19, 2009, 12:03 pm (2 years ago)
Curacao-licensed GoldenCasino.com has revealed that it is going to stop allowing players from US to wager at their site effective from the first of December.

The online casino has been around for over a decade and revealed that existing players would still be able to login, play and cash out any winnings while affiliates will continue to be paid on existing referrals.

“GoldenCasino.com is in the process being sold and under the new ownership GoldenCasino.com is going to no longer be allowing new players as of December 1, 2009,” stated in the site.

Several sources reported that the potential owners of the Vegas Technology-powered domain do not wish to interfere with US regulation enforcement officials. Banning US-based players would, consequently, be an attempt at evading prosecution under the unpopular Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006.
