China Internet Network Information Centre reported this week that China's flourishing number of users of Internet has gone beyond that of the United States to turn into the planets’ largest, with 253 million people online in spite of government restrictions on Web use.
The administration body told that Web use data as at end June 2008 indicated a 56 % boost from one year ago....and there growth will continue to boost, as this reflects only 19.1 % of the Chinese population.

According to the Associated Press, the United States had an approximated 223.1 million Internet users in June 2008, according to investigate firm Nielsen Online, while the Pew Internet and American Life Project puts U.S. online diffusion at 71 %.

"This is a new record the number has radically exceeded the United States, turning into the world's No. 1," a CNNIC statement noted.

According to The Associated Press, China's communist government supports Internet use for commerce and schooling but attempts to avoid admission to Web sites relating to pornographic or dissident. Web surfers have been arrested for putting or e-mailing matters that criticizes communist regulation or is considered a breach of vague national security laws.

In monetary expressions, China's market delays at the back of those of the United States, South Korea and other economies. However, the online business, video sharing and other commerce are increasing fast and have lifted millions of dollars from investors.

The commercial bang has created victory stories like games site Tencent.com and search engine Baidu.com, which are racing against foreign opponents for restricted market split. Baidu announced this week that its earnings in the most recent quarter dramatically increased by 87 percent over the year-earlier period to 265 million yuan ($38.6 million).

According to the research firm Analysys International this week, total incomes for China's Internet companies raised to 40.5 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) in 2007, up 48.6 % from the preceding year. It said incomes will likely to continue growing at a yearly rate of no less than 30 % in approaching years, hitting 137.5 billion yuan by 2010.

On the contrary, consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers for the Interactive Advertising Bureau reported that U.S. online advertising incomes itself in 2007 were $21.2 billion (145.2 billion yuan),

BDA China Ltd. forecasts that the number of China's Internet users will most likely to continue growing by 18 % yearly, hitting 490 million by 2012 — a number bigger than the entire U.S. population.

Internet companies have high regard for a new expansion exploded once Chinese mobile phone carriers crush third-generation, or 3G, technology that will hold Web-surfing and other services. There still not has been a date for it, but with more than 500 million mobile accounts, China holds a huge pool of possible wireless Internet users.

Chinese fixed-line carriers have reacted to the risk of more mobile users by growing into large-bandwidth Internet, Web-based cable television and other services. According to the CNNIC report, consequently, 214 million Chinese now have high-speed access.
