Authorities in the Northern American state introduced statement that they have served printed notices to 11 telephone and Internet service suppliers suggesting them to ban access to nearly 200 sites.

The anti-online gambling attempt in Minnesota is similar to that of in Kentucky with the eventually ineffective legal action carried out by officials in Kentucky last year and wants to stop Minnesota-based players from accessing to online casinos and poker rooms.

Citing a 1961 regulation, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Alcohol And Gambling Enforcement Division (AGED) has requested AT&T Internet Services, Charter Communications, Comcast Cable, Direct TV, Dish Network, Embarq, Sprint/Nextel, Frontier Communications, QWest, Verizon Wireless and Wildblue Communications to ban players in the state from accessing.
