ASA Upheld the Complaints On Ads

This week, The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) censured Irish bookmaker Paddy Power’s latest promotional TV and radio efforts.

There were numerous complains claiming that Paddy Power’s TV advert was misleading. Similar complain was receive for the radio advert. This is so because the main claim were contradicted by the terms and conditions of the offer.

Both the ads were focused on wagering on Champion League final match, which will held between Manchester United and Barcelona.

According to Paddy Power, they have not intentionally made these ads misleading, they further commented, “We will refund losing bets” this means that Paddy Power will not refund the whole of the losing betting amount but instead will refund some part of it. The company revels that the advert were focused on sports related channels and most of the viewers know that its a commonplace where betting companies make promotions.
