Casino News: French gaming laws irritating online casino operators

French gaming laws irritating online casino operators

 July 5, 2010, 11:42 am (1 year ago)
The latest French gaming regulations are making online casino operators unhappy. Some of the most esteemed gaming companies have by now gotten out of the French market without securing a license to run an online casino that allows access from players living in France. William Hill, a renowned gaming operator in Europe has left the French market. Following the announcement, all of the Playtech online casinos have chosen to leave French region.

The French are going to follow the same way as Italians do and only provide a certain number of licenses to online casinos in order to allow French players to use online casinos. These licenses come complete with a suite of severe regulations that licensees need follow. Playtech casinos operators surely will be bothered by this since they are focusing on the French market.

It is a tricky sports betting market indeed but the requirements can be understood. I myself am consulting a sports betting site from the UK. However casinos and fruit machines are totally banned on the French market.
