Tax agreement for Betfair

 February 23, 2010, 9:31 am (1 year ago)
Betfair has allegedly secured its position in the Tasmanian territory of Australia for the coming 10 years in a tax break agreement with the provincial government that is going to cost taxpayers $2 million throughout the next 2 years, but keep the betting group’s 130 job Support Centre in Hobart for the next ten years.

Betfair operations in Australia are partnering with the Packer group of Crown PBL companies owned by James Packer.

Tasmanian Premier David Bartlett commented that the deal is going to cost taxpayers around A$2 million throughout the next 2 years and is not going to be officially authorized until parliament returns after the March 20 state election.
