Online gaming enhancing cognitive speed and accuracy

A latest survey from an American researcher issued in the December subject of British scientific journal Perception has discovered that playing online games can bring some advantages.

Rolf Nelson, a professor of psychology at Wheaton College near Chicago, has allegedly discovered that online games are able to increase cognitive speed for those who play action games whilst enhancing cognitive correctness for those using puzzle and strategy games.

Nelson carried out a survey that started by testing twenty students to try to solve a spatial relation problem. The students were then given either a puzzle-based or action game to play for 1 hour previous to being asked to finish their first task again. Nelson allegedly discovered that the players that had used an action game had finished this 2nd task a lot quicker than before whilst those that had used a puzzle game had been more precise.
