The eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance organization (www.eCOGRA.org) has reached the target of accrediting One hundred online casino and poker rooms by December 2006, four months earlier.
There were Seventy six accredited sites when eCOGRA launched its “One hundred Seals campaign” in May this year. Since it has awarded One hundred and seven 'Play It Safe' seals to tier-one online casinos and poker rooms, in just over three months, eCOGRA has exceeded its goal.
Mr Andrew Beveridge, the CEO of eCOGRA said, 'Not only is this a major milestone for eCOGRA, these one hundred and seven seals signify a major change in the industry, in which, on line game players are consistently seeking out the 'Play It Safe' seal, and there is a real desire and ability for the industry to self-regulate”.
He also emphasized that, “If they're ready to meet the 21st century challenges facing the industry, we invite all online operators to commit to our standards and join the ranks of some of the most successful online gambling sites in the world.”
