Rumor is circulating this week that the Gibraltar-based Internet gambling group 888.com is planning to be taken over again, this time on the German bourse, where unverified but extensive rumors indicated that a Bwin is on the move in that direction.

Bwin, a major Vienna-listed online gambling group is ready to start up a major fund-raising scheme according to the rumors, and the strongest candidate is 888.com.

The Daily Mail observed that the acquisition of 888.com would bring additional strength to Bwin’s position in the European market after its latest acquisition of Italian group Gioco Digitale.
According to the newspaper, if Bwin make an action, it would need to get the approval from brothers Avi and Aaron Shaked, who own 50 % of the 888 equity through family trusts.
