Casino News: Barney challenges UIGEA

Barney challenges UIGEA

 May 6, 2009, 8:23 am (2 years ago)
Congressman Barney Frank is going to startup his most recent legislative challenge on the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act today at a press conference in Washington.

The much-expected endeavor to knock over the UIGEA is, “…allow Americans to bet online and discontinue an unsuitable intrusion with their individual freedom. The new bill would produce an exemption to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act for operators that are licensed and controlled.

UIGEA, which was passed in 2006, limits the utilization of the payments system for Americans who seek the freedom to gamble online,” as said by Frank in an announcement from his House Financial Services Committee.
