In May this year, online gambling group Betfair's top IT man, Rory Devine, submitted his acknowledgment, causing a wide investigation for a substitute which came to a conclusion with the statement that former Vodafone manager Tony McAlister is going to replace him.
With his assignment as CTO on January 19th 2009, McAlister will be engaged with one of the most challenging jobs in the Internet gambling technical field, with total management duty for Betfair's highly developed technologies and computer equipment. As CTO, McAlister is going to report to chief executive David Yu and is going to be in charge of a team of 300 IT engineers across the world.

Betfair said McAlister will be enhancing the customer experience at the online betting company, to conduct technology improvement and make sure the company's fast lucrative enlargement is underpinned by smart industrial strategies.
