Let it ride

The game is used on a partially circular table with the dealer on the flat side and the players on the round side. Each player puts 3 equal bets at the beginning of the game. The mean of Let it ride is to determine how good a poker hand is set from the player’s 3 cards and the 2 community cards. Following a player views his cards he has the choice of withdrawing one of his bets or letting them all ride. Once all the players have made their actions the dealer flips one of his cards face up. Now each player sees 4 of the 5 cards that are going to make up his finishing hand. Then he will make the next call. If his hand comes weak he is able to cancel one of his bets, irrespective of the move taken in the 1st go. If his hand comes good then he is able to let his rest of the bets ride. At the end of this round players are able to get one, two or all their bets on the table. The dealer now shows his 2nd card face up. At the same time the players show their cards face up. Each of the bets on the table is paid out according to a given payout agenda.

Players who hold less than a pair of tens lose all bets that are still on the table. The rest of the players are paid out at the following odds for each of their bets on the table. Tens or better is paid out at 1:1; two pairs is paid out at 2:1; three of a kind is paid out at 3:1; straight is paid out at 5:1; flush is paid out at 8:1; full house is paid out at 11:1; four of a kind is paid out at 50:1; straight flush is paid out at 200:1; and royal flush is paid out at 1000:1. There is a particular attraction as well. For a dollar side bet a player drawing a royal flush can get free entry to one of the million dollar competitions, although there are several takers for this.

Let it ride is a mixture of games. It is played on a blackjack like table but roles as poker. The players are called on to make intermediary choices, which is a very essential part for gambling games these days. Yet the tactic is easy and so the game assists to wind down the tensions of playing blackjack or poker for long periods.
