Poker Stars Is Preparing For Biggest Online Poker TournamentAugust 21, 2006, 3:25 pm (5 years ago)The fifth annual World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) of PokerStars.com is to take place on September 16. It has been announced that, players from more than eighty countries will be competing in eighteen tournaments. Of course, there is a guaranteed prize pool of a whooping $10 million!
Starting with the Two hundred Dollars buy-in Razz (Seven-Card Stud Low) tournament, the WCOOP will be celebrated for a duration of sixteen days. On October 1st with the $2,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament, offering cash prizes of $3 million, the closing bells can be heard.
Since the online tournament debut of H.O.R.S.E., which is one of the highlights of this year’s tournament and a rotation of five varieties of poker, there are great expectations that it will likely to attract great names of the sport.

You may recall that, the 2005 WCOOP tournament series has fascinated 19,727 players and generated money to the tune of $12,783,900 in prizes. It is the third largest online and terrestrial poker spectacle conducted ever, in the world.
