Poker remains popular
May 24, 2009, 10:42 am (2 years ago)In spite of UIGEA issued in 2006, apparently, the popularity of poker is ever-lengthening. This has been proven by a new poker television program planned to be released soon on the G4 cable station in August.
The show is going to have 4 online poker players – Jason “pr1nnyraid” Rosenkrantz, Brian “Flawless_Victory” Roberts, Emil “whitelime” Patel and Dani “ansky” Stern all attempting to net $2,000,000 throughout the course of 10 half-hour episodes.
“There was something that symbolized a way of life our audience is attracted with. Every young guy wants they could own this lifestyle, so it was very attractive to men ages 18 to 34, which is the most part of our demographic.” explained Laura Civiello, vice president of G4.
“It’s a big challenge. That’s part of the fun of the show, watching them go on this incredible journey. For our audience, both the stakes and the lifestyle are the whole package. You wish to return to check if they win or lose.”
