The APT has been given government authorization to extend the poker events in Macau this year. Consequently, the total days for 2009 APT Macau have become 12 days instead of six days under the new name of the Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival.

The Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino is going to manage the event from August 12-23 in Macau, China. The festival is going to have high-limit cash games in addition to smaller contests along with the APT events.

The Main Event is going to have 3 Day 1s and have a $4,300 buy-in. Widely famous competition manager Matt Savage is controlling and managing at the event and has guaranteed a high roller event as well.
