Top online poker site PokerStars.com has revealed that it is going to be putting their effort into setting a new world record later this month for the biggest field ever seen for an Internet poker competition.

This extraordinary competition is going to be held on the afternoon of December 28 and feature a cap of 35,000 players that will have the chance to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. The top Isle of Man-licensed site held a comparable competition last year that had around 20,000 players participated, with ‘Lynna1’ winning the $20,000 top prize.

With a buy-in of just $11 together with an assurance of $50,000, PokerStars.com revealed that it anticipates meeting the required record level with about 2,000 players having signed up so far. The competition is going to have max of 3,500 tables going concurrently with blinds moving swiftly because of 10-minute Turbo-style increases.
