JC Tran taking $300,000 at PartyPoker Premier League III
December 4, 2008, 7:34 am (3 years ago)Following a long battle amongst 12 of the world’s top poker players followed by an extraordinarily hard final table, PKR-sponsored Asian Poker Tour ambassador JC Tran has won the PartyPoker Premier League III crown and $300,000 share of a total of $1.25m prize pool.
The last table was with online celebrity Tom Dwan; PartyPoker Premier League II champion Juha Helppi; thunderous and aggressive pro Tony G; WSOP 2008 Main Event champion Peter Eastgate and UK pro Roland de Wolfe.
“This is great and I am so pleased, I have been feeling great all week and it is incredible to win this event. Until this week I’d never played in Europe previously - I really couldn’t ask for more! Maybe I should live here! I would like to thank everyone who has made my trip to London such a magnificent experience.” explained Tran.
In the final hand the blinds were at $20k/$40k and Tran shuffled in with 97o. Tony checked with K8o and then check-raised all in on a 576 flop that had gave him an open-ended straight draw and 2 over-cards. Tran called with top pair and a straight draw which led him to take $300,000 home.
