The Asian Poker Tour has revealed that its 1st event for next year is going to be held from January 27 to February 1 at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel in Makati, Philippines.

January’s buy-in will be $2,500 with the APT saying that interested parties are supposed to contact their local or online poker room for details on listed satellites. The Tour announced that it is planning to organize no less than 4 main events in 2009 with additional statements being made next week.

'The APT has previously held 2 main events this year, APT Philippines and APT Macau,” explained Chris Parker, Chief Executive Officer for the APT.

This year's APT for the Philippines took place in May and amused 316 worldwide poker players, a number that organizers are wishing to exceed at next year's event. Held at the same venue as the forthcoming tournament, the APT held a one million dollar guaranteed prize pool together with other attractions including Asia's 1st 13-card poker competition. Australian professional poker player David Saab won the key event and picked up a $280,000 top prize.
