Sportsnet is going to begin broadcasts of a 4-part sequence next week containing WPT Canada, the inaugural Canadian World Poker Tour competition.

The 1st of the 4 hour-long chapters are going to debut in the 1st week of September throughout Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific.

Much-admired Canadian sports presenter, Jim Van Horne, is going to host the shows together wiht poker professional 'Cowboy' Kenna James.

The WPT Canada series is going to emphasize high stakes activities from the Coast to Coast Championships, a 9-day competition uniting 7 different poker games held at The River Rock Casino in Vancouver.

Approximately 2,000 players and pros came from through Canada and North America to play for their share of the $1.6 million prize pool, a WPT Canada title and a opportunity at poker stardom.
