French player bags seat at WSOP eventJuly 27, 2007, 3:13 pm (4 years ago)A French poker player has won a dream ticket to compete in September’s World Series of Poker Europe main event.
The player, ‘jujumalo’, won room Everest Poker’s online poker room’s tournament for a seat at the event. The WSOP Europe event will take place over six-days starting September 11 as a No-Limit Texas Hold’Em Championship at casinos The Empire, The Sportsman and Fifty. The first ever world event to be hosted outside America has attracted some of the biggest names in poker. Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Roland De Wolfe, Allen Cunningham John Juanda, Todd Brunson, Eli Elezra, Howard Lederer, Humberto Brenes and Jennifer Harman have all paid Ј10,000 entry fee to take part in the event. Everest Poker’s property manager Jonathan May said he was delighted to be sending one of Everest’s players to such a massive event. Competition for the coveted seat was tough in last weekend’s event with over 107 players from around Europe were in contention. And poker enthusiasts will have two more chances to book themselves a seat at the WSOP event. Two more direct entry events will be held Saturday, August 4 and Saturday, August 18, 2007.
