EU Aims for Freedom of Movement for Online Gambling
July 8, 2007, 5:17 am (4 years ago)The European Commission (EC) announced that France, Sweden and Greece will be subjected to legal arrangements because they are not opening their gambling market to foreign competitors.
Oliver Drewes, an EC executive said “There is a decision by tomorrow in the college, commissioners, in the member states and yesterday “This will be a concern to France, Greece and Sweden this time. This will be a plan as scheduled for tomorrow.”
Foreign betting companies such as William Hill and Stanley Leisure face big challenges as they try to break through state owned gambling monopolies; both failed to have a part of the Greek market.
EC argued before the said countries that they are not complying with the European Union’s goal of freedom of movement for goods and services.
