Taiwan, to Launch Online Gambling

 June 14, 2007, 7:29 pm (4 years ago)

In order to help stimulate the economic growth of Taiwan particularly the poor central and southern areas, the Nation has a plan to begin sports gambling earlier next year.

The Council on Physical Fitness and Sports director, Yang Chung-ho states that if everything goes as planned, Sportsbetting would be opened at Taiwan by April 2008.

Taiwan intends to start three kinds of sports type gambling; this include cars and horse racing. The first sports gambling could be the car racing because the country will not need to change the law for that type of gambling.

There is a law in Taiwan that prohibits animals to be used for gambling purposes as told by sports officials.

The Council is expected to choose the institution empowered to issue the tickets in the sports lottery by September.
