Casino News: Another Online Gambling Bill offing in the US

Another Online Gambling Bill offing in the US

 June 15, 2011, 8:43 am (4 years ago)
Another bill related to the legalization of online gambling in the US is set to come. Joe Barton, Texas Republican and the sponsor of the bill has announced a statement about the final processing of the bill with the consult of Poker Players Alliance.

The current bill is different from the former introduced by Congressmen John Campbell and Barney Frank, as it addresses only to online poker players. The reason behind this difference is the movement that declares that the 'poker game highly involves skills' and the bill supports this expression.

Knowingly, Barton holds the position of Chairman Emeritus of the USECC i.e. United States Energy and Commerce Committee and he is intended to introduce the bill under USECC, seeking his full control over it.

Meanwhile, at the state level, the matter of online gambling legislation is at cold storage, as the controversy could remain for long until the final decision arrives.
