In United States to sort out the scuffle between the anti online gambling and pro online gambling, a survey was conducted at the reputed research organization Ipsos, by the Lottery and Gaming Group. This survey was conducted online between April 29 and May 1, 2011, the sample size was 1006 Americans.
This survey focused on the online gambling behavior of American citizens. The result of the survey says that almost 9% of the Americans have indulged in online gambling from last 12 months, if online gambling becomes legalized then 13% of the Americans admitted that they would indulge in this acti8vity in the next 12 months.
The ipsos survey thrown light on another issue related to online gambling in United States, that is whether online gambling should be regulated by State government or federal government. Last years survey result on this topic reflects that 55% were in favor of federal government, while this year 55% are in favor of State government. As per Paul Lauzon, senior vice president and Managing Director of the Lottery and Gaming Group the reason behind this is that people feel that federal government will not be able to move ahead in the direction of legalization of online gambling.
