Microgaming to become award winnerDecember 31, 2006, 4:20 pm (9 years ago)One of the industry's top turnkey providers and software developers, Microgaming has won an award for its contribution to the economy of the Isle of Man. The company received recognition this week in the Isle of Man Newspaper Awards 2006 held in the capital, Douglas.
Microgaming was entered in the competitive category of New Organization of the Year, open to any company which has been operating on the Island between two and 10 years. In announcing that Microgaming had won, the evening's host - former Tory MP and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth - described the company as "part of the next wave of business to take the Island into the future." Chief Executive Officer Roger Raatgever commenting on the win, said: "I can only quote from part of our award citation: 'Microgaming quickly realized that the Internet was not just a version of an offline casino room, but a totally new playing experience with the potential to entertain and engage people in new ways. It also realized that to achieve this it would require constant evolution and innovation.' We want to thank all of our staff for their part in bringing this vision to fruition and making this win possible." Microgaming is one of the leading Online Casino and Online Gaming Software Platform providers.
