The reintroduction of online gambling in the US was at last receiving nice response. Since summer the legislation bought in the House of Representatives was passed by the committee and was waiting for its time for debate and eventual vote on the House floor.
It still required getting through by the Senate and eventually from the President’s desk, however momentum was gaining heights. Then the mid-term elections came. The country witnessed a conservative wave and several Republicans were elected into Congress. The makeup of the bigger body of Congress was revamped, and will be fully controlled by the Republicans from the coming session of January which leaves the Congress in a lame duck session.
This also means that the House Resolution 2267 will suffer incredibly as the mainstream of those who supported the legislation comprised of Democrats. Many feel that the legislation has little hope to be passed before the session of the congress terminates.
There is a high probability that the Democratic lawmakers will be pressing more vital issues like health care, restructuring financial guidelines and repealing President Bush era tax breaks. With the Republicans coming into power they will be working on their own terms which definitely means that they will be fighting to overturn anything and everything achieved by Democrats in their ruling period.
