Casino News: Atlantic Lottery backs from the online gambling plan

Atlantic Lottery backs from the online gambling plan

 November 2, 2010, 11:22 am (1 year ago)
The ongoing trend amongst most of the Canadian States for provincial lottery associations to launch online gaming and gambling services was interrupted this week due to a decision taken by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation. The Association stated that it would not offer any internet gambling or online gaming services for the provinces namely: Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

It is still not confirmed whether The Atlantic Lottery Corporation had unanimously agreed on the decision or it was taken due to the rejection of the proposal by the concerned provinces, which was made by the Association.

Formerly, the provinces of British Columbia and Quebec declared their intention of entering the online gaming sector with a venture of the British Columbia, which is gaining considerable fame due to the Playnow.com site. The provincial officials of Ontario are still considering the possibility; but sources reveal the fact that in the near future, it will also launch Internet Gambling.
