Sweden’s Net Entertainment revealed that it is going into the beneficial branded online gaming sphere of activities with a multi-year licensing deal with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, a division of media giant NBC Universal.

The contract allows Net Entertainment to have the rights to extend content based on chosen Universal properties. Johan Öhman, CEO Net Entertainment commented that this is a milestone for Net Entertainment, and is going to give them the opportunity to additionally augment their product offering to also add games based on brands and characters well known to the mass market.

Net Entertainment going into the branded online gaming space is going to see the company competing with the major companies such as CryptoLogic, Chartwell and Playtech who have contracted multi-licence deals with film studio Paramount Pictures.
