Casino News: Ireland taxing offshore internet companies

Ireland taxing offshore internet companies

 May 27, 2010, 11:23 am (1 year ago)
Last week, the Irish Taoiseach Brian Cowen revealed that he initiated the move on taxing online gambling companies and telephone betting companies that entered the Irish market. If the bill is gong to pass, internet companies abroad are going to be obligatory to be issued with license to offer online gambling services to the citizens of Ireland. Now, foreign operators are not required to pay any monies to the Irish government.

Mr. Cowen commented, “This is going to have the extra profit of assisting the addition of the tax regime for the betting business to all those offering online and telephone betting and so strengthening funding for the race industry.”
