Gambling incomes went beyond the banks in Bulgaria

According to the newspaper, casinos and bingo halls paid BGN 99, 5 million of income tax, whilst the total contribution of Bulgarian banks to the state budget is going to be BGN 78 million from their BGN 780 million earnings.
Late last year the likelihood of augmenting Bulgaria’s tax on gambling to 15% from January 2010 was the focus of public discussion following a Finance Ministry examination indicating that boosting the tax on the pastime was supported by 84% of respondents.
