China getting ready for additional measures against online gambling

China, well-known for its government eliminating of any kind of online gambling related activity, has started up a new anti-Internet gambling drive affiliated by several collaborating ministries.

The action is ready to execute from February until August 2010 and this is going to contain clamp downs on the businesses of banks and websites related to the activities, as said by a Ministry of Public Security announcement issued on the department’s website this week.

The movement is going to focus on examining key cases of online gambling, eliminate domestic and foreign groups that form online gambling, and harshly punish the illegal elements involved, as warning given by the statement. It said that enforcement procedures are going to strictly penalize those who operate underground banks, together with third-party payment platforms that offer banking services related to gambling are going to be included.
