Casino News: Belgian regulation regarding on online gambling

Belgian regulation regarding on online gambling

 January 5, 2010, 1:13 pm (1 year ago)
To hold back the augmentation of the number of online casino, poker and sports betting unlawful websites, which are a tremendously profitable business according to the Belgian politicians, the Room of the representatives in Belgium passed a bill start of December. This bill on online gambling was a adjustment of a text regarding games of chance issued in 1999. The Upper House of the Kingdom of Belgium had approved its own text at the end of November 2009, text which Belgian deputies had authorized without making any change. However, the European commission apparently does not agree on this latest regulation.

Following this news, the EGBA, the organization gathering the principal operators of online gambling in Europe, is getting ready to make an action. It protests against the requirement enforced to the operators who wish to obtain an online license to have before a global casino license. The EGBA speculates that the only benefiter of this conclusion is the casinos and the physical operators of sports betting previously established in Belgium.
