One of the world’s biggest online poker sites, the Isle Of Man-licensed domain had great achievement twice previously as well. They had records of 35,000 players in December of 2008 before exceeding this number with 65,000 players from 155 nations in July of last year.
PokerStars.com’s most recent effort was seen on December 27 and was recognized by the Guinness Book Of World Records with a total prize pool of $300,000. The site announced that 149,196 players paid a one-dollar buy-in for the chance to battle for a top prize of $50,000 with the top 30,000 players getting cash reward.
PokerStars.com revealed that its competition took just under 6 hours to battle and was finally won by online player ‘oskar69’ and for the second place, ‘Bommel222’ walked away with $30,000.
