Enhanced crack down carried out by Israeli authorities against Internet gambling

This week, the Israeli authorities put more efforts into cracking down on Internet gambling operations supposedly running from within the Middle Eastern. According to the Jerusalem Post, 300 police officers and tax authority officials investigated 37 homes throughout the country and captured up to 30 suspected people.

According to the police sources, after a one year period investigation it was alleged that the online gambling ring’s website at Betbet.us had delivered more than US$90,275,326 for its Israeli owners throughout a 3 year period.

The investigations were conducted by the Israeli police’s special division Lahav 433, together with officials from the national tax authority, state prosecutors and representatives from the Israel Money Laundering Prohibition Authority. According to the first reports, gigantic amount of assets were taken away and 160 bank accounts in diverse banks were seized.
