Time to see the reality of the Internet in the United States

Rep. Polis has an experience of launching and operating several Internet-based companies. He says Congress should loose the unproductive effort to prohibit Internet gambling in the U.S. and, in its place, replace it with a controlled environment where relevant consumers are able to choose to place a bet online with guarantees that they are protected from scam and mistreatment.”
“Apart from what one believes of the appropriate public policy scheme to gaming on the whole, it’s time to recognize that this occurrence of ill-conceived prevention did not succeed, is failing and is going to keep failing since it totally take no notice of the reality of the Internet,” says Rep. Polis.
Rep. Polis additionally pushes support for the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act (H.R. 2267), introduced by Rep. Barney Frank, which would substitute the existing, unsuccessful prohibition on Internet gambling with a strict authoritarian environment where operators must be licensed and required to put into practice the safeguards to protect against obsessive and underage gambling.
