Republicans Favored by Sportsbook.com BettorsNovember 25, 2006, 7:20 pm (5 years ago)Almost 88 per cent of the money is going to the Republican line. The House of Representatives provides a different indication of what could happen in the polls with almost 75 per cent of the money being bet on a Democratic takeover.
Sportsbook.com's political bettors are overwhelmingly betting on the Republicans to hang on to the Senate after next Tuesday's elections. According to the odds makers at Sportsbook.com, the Democrats are -400 to win the House and +170 to gain control of the Senate. Republicans are +300 to retain control over the House and -220 to retain the Senate. Of the 33 Senate seats up for election on November 7th, most are expected to stay in the hands of the incumbent party. But there are many where it is anybody's bet who will win. The latest polls show Democrats sure to pick up some House seats but there are as many as 45 House seats churning around in the current political tempest - easily enough uncertainty to present a worthy challenge to political gamblers.
