Online gambling ban in Bulgaria

“At present, taxation on gambling in Bulgaria does not succeed to contribute major funds to the Budget whilst the harm gambling causes is big,” explained Kostov, who is a previous prime minister and finance minister.
“People who lobbied to keep gambling free of excise duties lied that this would deliver higher income to the Budget and that the state would get money in return. I advocate the plan of an absolute prohibition on gambling in Bulgaria, since it doesn’t contribute to boost the income, causes damage and maybe the only people who profit from it are the gambling bosses,” Kostov explained.
