It appears that even though the uncontrolled operations that are getting all of the profits of the US not licensing online gambling is going to keep on flourishing in any case until 2010. It is assumed that Representative Barney Frank's legislation to control Internet gambling might be postponed until then.

At first it seemed as though Frank was ready to use the wave of momentum the Democrats had coming out of last November's election. The current consideration was that his online gambling legislation would come soon following Obama was sworn into office. The financial situation, however, pressured Frank to postpone.

In May, Frank revealed his approach for the upending of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. In one Bill, he wanted the regulations for the UIGEA, which is going to be effective in December, to be postponed. In his other Bill, he lays the outline for legitimate and controlled Internet gambling in the US.
