 August 24, 2009, 9:15 am (2 years ago)
Apparently, according to media reports over the weekend, Brazilian politicians could be getting ready for a prohibition on Internet gambling that may contain something similar to UIGEA aimed to dislocate financial transactions between players and online gambling operators, and even Internet Service Provider blocks on offshore online gambling websites.

The reports highlight that Bill PLS 121/2008 still has a lot of obstacles to trounce as it makes its path via parliamentary committees previous to complete debate and voting in both the Brazilian Senate and Chamber of Deputies in addition to both houses of the Congress.

If eventually passed, the suggestion could put a major interruption on the Latin American market for which a lot of operators have high expectations.
