Massachusetts lottery teaming upwith NFL team
August 13, 2009, 9:43 am (2 years ago)U.S. National Football League owners in May this year authorized a rule that gives its pro teams the opportunity to associate with local lotteries on scratch-card betting activities. The plan has obviously attracted the teams, with Cincinnati, Dallas, Green Bay, Houston, Washington, Seattle and the New York Jets joining other NFL teams to provide instant lottery games in partnership with local lotteries.
In the most recent agreement, the Massachusetts state lottery penned its 3rd sports team to a scratch-card contract when it closed a deal with the New England Patriots.
Both Patriot officials and lottery officials haven’t provided an approximation on how much money the team is going to get since the agreement is based on sales, but Massachusetts State Treasurer Tim Cahill stated that the Patriots is going to recognize “millions of dollars” if all 30 million tickets are sold.
