Possibility of clean-up over internet gambling in Bulgarian

According to the Bulgrian news agency BGNES, government officials are turning out to be more and more anxious about the outpouring of cash from the country as a consequence of its citizens playing at overseas online gambling sites.

It is approximated by the State Gambling Commission that Bulgaria loses hundreds of millions of leva each year as an effect of the movement of illegitimate operators of online gambling.
Simeon Simeonov, a representative of the Commission, verified that companies offering Internet gambling and bets in Bulgaria are in the main unauthorized, and the Commission has allegedly inflicted dozens of penalty charges on this kind of companies.

The examination indicates that in 2006 the earnings from illegitimate online gambling operations in Bulgaria was BGN 500 million, that went up to BGN 700 million in 2007, and BGN 1 billion in 2008; the number is likely to go over BGN 1,5 billion in 2009.
