The Malaysian delegate minister for federal territories, Datuk M. Saravanan has introduced the allege that nearly ninety % of cyber cafes in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur are participating in illegitimate online gambling events by adding gambling software on their computers.

The minister gave warnings that the government would not accept this circumstance, and that the police would carry on a harsh concentrated effort on illegitimate gambling, according to the national news agency Bernama.

“The Kuala Lumpur City Hall released the cyber cafe licenses in the hope that the people would be computer educated, but from the surprise checks carried on, we find the licenses issued to cyber cafe operators have been violated,” the minister stated in a closing address to the Youth Cultural Fiesta Program.
