Jim Moran proposes problem gambling legislation
June 21, 2009, 7:14 am (2 years ago)Congressman Jim Moran, a Virginia Democrat, has introduced a governmental suggestion targeted at providing federal financial resources in problem gambling study and cure, as said by The Hill blog.
Moran notes that the greater part of Americans gamble, most of them are not causing damage to themselves, their family members or their communities. However, sadly, for around 3 to 4 % of American adults, recreational gambling can turn out to be a problem.
The politician states that as state governments seek ways to increase income in these harsh economic situations, many are interested in legal gaming operations to increase the tax base.
