As said by the reports in the UK newspaper, The Times two well recognized and large online gambling companies may now be in discussions. Gibraltar-based Party Gaming plc and the NASDAQ listed GigaMedia group are mentioned in the report.

The Times article unveils that Gigamedia, which holds a market worth of $363 million, may have hired Goldman Sachs, the investment bank, to seek a buyer for the entire company or its esteemed Everest Gaming and Everest Poker brands.

PartyGaming, which this month came to a conclusion with a $105 million legal argument with the US Department of Justice, is amongst a small number of parties believe to be discussing with Gigamedia. PartyGaming has indicated once that one of the benefits of putting the risk of US suit behind it is the improved capability to take part in M&A and capital increasing activities.
