Casino News: Washington state prohibition on internet gambling

Washington state prohibition on internet gambling

 April 19, 2009, 8:06 am (2 years ago)
With more online gambling companies coming forward with news of a Washington state discontinuation and desist order on business press releases given out by state-based PRWeb, it is turning out to be apparent that previous reports on the prohibition were correct.

The reports are that PRWeb, which provides a distribution service for business press releases, has required notifying online gambling group patrons that it can no longer allow their material after a cease order from the Gambling Commission of its home state of Washington.

Originally considered as excessively intense a move even for a state with as unsympathetic an resistance to Internet gambling as Washington, it has become apparent that editorial staff at PRWeb have been told by management that “….PRWeb is going to no longer be issuing releases that support or connect to online gambling or interrelated websites. This move in editorial has been urged by lawful considerations and brings us in line with the stance that other distinguished organizations including Google and Yahoo are at present taking with consideration to advertising of online gambling in the U.S.”
