More economic downturn impact on Vegas

USA Today introduced again in the article the impact done by economic downturn attack throughout this ongoing distressed economic times in USA. According to the report, from October 2008 to mid-March 2009 around 402 conferences and assemblies planned for Las Vegas had been called off.

The statistics from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority indicated that the 402 cancellations cost the Las Vegas area’s economy $166 million, and that sum is not including lost gambling earnings. In Las Vegas, conference audience summed up to 583,168 people in February 09, dropped 35 % from February 2008.

According to USA Today, the Authority is putting their effort into providing its hotel partners, clients and the business community with the instruments and inducements in order to provide balance to the discussion of meetings and business travel.
