Casino News: European Commission vs. Dutch and Greeks

European Commission vs. Dutch and Greeks

 March 2, 2009, 5:07 am (2 years ago)
The European Commission's conclusion to press forward in its examination into breaches of the EU Treaty by the Dutch and Greek governments has been approved by the Remote Gaming Association, a trade body for main online gambling companies in Europe.
The Reasoned Opinion published by the Commission concentrates on the protectionist and state monopolistic policies of the 2 governments about online gambling, which retarded the free passageway of goods and services among EU member nations.

In an announcement this week the RGA stated that Greece and its gambling monopoly OPAP, and the Dutch De Lotto monopoly were at the core of the accusations.
