Will Japan be a part of online casino industry?

 February 16, 2009, 9:55 am (2 years ago)
The laws in Japan have not allowed any form of casinos operated in Japan. The only gambling that are allowed in Japan are horse racing, pachinko, and the state lottery and neither of those carry the attraction of online casinos.

Obviously, there are no forms of online casinos or land-based casinos in Japan right now. But the Japanese government is taking into consideration to make a profit out of heavily-regulated online and off-line gambling after 2010.

This can be very good news for the online gambling industry since Japan is now Asia’s richest nation with the highest GDP in the Asia. Actually, their GDP per capita is beyond that of the US. One must think Japan could be one of the market which has the potential of expanding the online casino market.
